Application Browser Form – Matix Integration

Application Browser Form – Matix Integration

Overview

Matix leverages the power and flexibility of ESRI’s ArcGIS Server, and web-based mapping services, to provide an everyday tool for performing statistical analysis and visualizations. Matix integration allows the Govern application to leverage the functionality of the Matix plugin in Govern V6 through a custom control. When configured the integration is presented as another “child” of the integration controls, similar to the Govern Web Browser Integration (WBI). Matix Integration has been implemented in GA release 1511 for version 6.0 and 6.1.

For the Matix integration, there are three (3) principal areas of the user interface that are used.

  • Dataset TreeView – This is used for displaying search results, and expanding the results to access related OpenForms.
  • Matix Ribbon – This area contains the principal controls that allow users to query and interact with configured base maps.
  • Matix Map pane – This displays the GIS map as well as the controls to modify the display of the map, layers, and selected parcels. The Dataset TreeView and the Matix Map pane can be configured to update and display information automatically or with manual synchronization.

Configuring the UI for Auto-Synch or Manual Synch operation is achieved through selections made in the Govern User Registry Manager form. See Auto-Synch and Manual Synch Configuration in the Matix documentation for more information.

GIS Integration

From the start, knowing the value GIS brings to local government and citizens, GIS integration has played a big role in the Govern philosophy of having a centralized, land-based, property control data model. Over time, driven by the evolution of our GIS partners and our client needs, we have integrated different GIS engines [systems] and developed GIS [applications] or tool boxes.

For integrators, Govern provides a Property Control/GIS API for system interaction and specific property control tasks such as split merges, property area code updates (zoning, districts…), etc.

Standard GIS Integration

Govern Standard GIS Integration

Overview

Govern has adopted Matix as its standard GIS Integration Tool. Matix leverages the power and flexibility of ESRI’s ArcGIS Server, as well as the latest in web-based mapping services, to provide an everyday tool for performing rapid statistical analysis and advanced visualizations. Matix integration allows the Govern application to load the Matix plugin from CCI. This is done through a Govern custom control.

NOTE: The standard distribution will consist of the Web Browser Integrator (WBI) (101-std-frm-003), the Application Browser Integrator (std-frm-005) and the Matix Integrator.

OpenForms MATIX Integration

Integration is accomplished via the Govern OpenForms Standard Application Browser form and feature (std-frm-005).
It was tailored for MATIX and distributed as a standard form (std-frm-008). To get an idea of MATIX specific features and how it is configured, please refer to the Standard Application Browser for MATIX.

Furthermore, the Standard Application Browser form function has similar functionalities to the Standard Web Browser (WBI) form for Web base application integration. For additional information on this feature, refer to the standard Web Browser Integration (WBI) (101-std-frm-003) video in the Videos section of this page.
