Overview

The Govern QueryTool is designed for performing searches on Govern data. It provides a user-friendly interface for creating and running SQL selection queries. You can easily add conditions or change existing ones on the fly. No knowledge of SQL is required.

By default, it is integrated with Govern OpenForms and can be launched from the Tools menu. It can be integrated with Govern for Windows. Alternatively, you can use it as a standalone application.

NOTE: The QueryTool is used for selection queries only to view information from the Govern database. It cannot be used for action queries to add, update, or delete information from a database.

With the Govern Query Tool, you can:

  • Run predefined queries or create new ones directly from the Govern application.
  • Change conditions or add new ones on the fly. Then, see the results immediately.
  • Create and save private queries for your own use or public queries that you can share with specific roles and users
  • Add conditions to refine the search
  • Add comparison or logical operators

User Interface

The Query Tool UI has the same general features as the Govern interface, for detaching, moving, and pinning the panes and other features in different locations. For details, see
